Sometimes I think my heart might just burst at all the hurt in the world.
It's hard to believe that our little lives can really do anything to make a dent in the injustice and brokenness.
But the more I draw close to Jesus, the more I believe that every life matters. YOU MATTER. And you can make a difference.
THE NEED:
THE NEED:
An estimated 80% of children in rural Guatemala are severely malnourished. OBR is on the ground in Guatemala, making trips into remote mountain areas to rescue babies who are literally starving to death.
They then provide life-saving treatment and medical care, nursing the children back to health, and ultimately reuniting them with their families.
MY STORY:
In October 2012, I had the opportunity to travel with World Help to visit the Rescue Center in Guatemala.
I was able to blog the entire journey, and I would love for you to take a moment to read those stories here.
16 children were rescued in a 2 day period during our trip.
On Friday, we attended the funeral of one of those babies, little Nelson, the first son to a 19 year old mother. No words can describe the desperation I felt in those moments, raw with emotion, crying out before God for a mother I did not know, and for a loss I couldn't comprehend; an unnecessary loss of life caused by malnutrition and diarrhea.
Friends, the need is dire and for so many babies, there is no more time.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
watch/learn
Take just a few moments to read more & watch the 10 minute documentary at the bottom of this page.
It costs $1,200 to rescue one baby. This cost includes the actual rescue effort, as well as medical care.
My dream is to raise funds to rescue 10 babies.
10 real babies just waiting for hope.
